Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray used her personal religious convictions to advocate for a just world. More importantly, Murray recognized community and reconciliation as a necessary part of social transformation and healing. In a time where conversations around politics and religion can be polarizing, what can Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray’s theology and overarching legacy of activism teach us about this moment we’re living through? What is the role of spirituality in today’s liberation work? Retreat participants will be invited to journey mindfully to three sacred spaces that were foundational to Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray’s spiritual formation: Chapel of the Cross, St. Titus’ Episcopal Church, and the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice.
All participants will receive:
A copy of To Speak a Defiant Word
Transportation to each site (bus will start and end at the Pauli Murray Center)
Snacks and meals throughout the day
Thoughtful facilitation and historical/theological framing at each site of significance
Space is limited and advanced tickets are required! Click here to register.
