Plan Your Visit to the Pauli Murray Center

The Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice is open to the public on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Please check our calendar for weekly hours.

If the Center is closed, you are always welcome to drop by our free outdoor exhibits, which are accessible to the public year-round during daylight hours.

Public Tours

We are excited to offer a variety of public tours for folks to explore the incredible life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray inside the home where they were raised. We offer both guided and self-guided opportunities to members of our community! While children are always welcome at the Pauli Murray Center, our guided tour is best suited for youth 12 and up. All children should be accompanied by an parent or guardian for public tours.

The Pauli Murray Center is pleased to offer many community events throughout the year, including community days, book clubs, lectures, and more. To view our upcoming events, check out our event calendar!

Private Tours and Field Trips

If you’re planning to visit the center with your class, church group, corporation, or book club, a private tour offers the opportunity to experience Pauli Murray’s childhood home at a time that is convenient for your group. Private tours are scheduled throughout the week based on staff capacity but are not available on Saturdays between 9 AM - 2:30 PM, due to public open hours.

Outdoor Exhibit Exploration

Are you in town for a visit, but none of our public tour opportunities work with your schedule? You can always explore the outdoor exhibits and scenic grounds of Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray’s childhood home at your convenience. The outdoor exhibits are available to all visitors without a reservation during daylight hours. Please note that staff will likely not be available to answer questions or open the space for drop-in visits. Exploring the outdoor exhibits is completely free, but donations are always welcome.
